Materials:

The students color the bags in any acceptable way they choose. Inside each bag I put 3-4 clues to a "mystery". The students are to use the clue to write a story on what they believed happened. If props like a toy gun, broken mirror, note, etc. can be used then the props are put in the bag instead/with clues. This way I get to check out the students creativity, spelling/grammar/writing skills for the term. The students have fun and I have a great assessment tool.
